Summary Ph.D. student at Florida International University working on dynamic phasor and EMT simulation, inverter-based resources, and PMU cybersecurity.

Work

  • 2025.05 - Present
    Graduate Research Assistant
FAU and FIU PMU Cybersecurity Project
    • Secured IEEE C37.118 data frames with public-key cryptography and an SRAM physically unclonable function (PUF) in a hardware-in-the-loop testbed with SEL relays, validated against FDI, DDoS and MiTM attacks.
    • Built a real-time IEEE 39-bus simulation in OPAL-RT eMEGASIM to stream PMU measurements into the testbed.
  • 2025.05 - Present
    Graduate Research Assistant
ORNL RE-INTEGRATE EMT Simulation Project, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
    • Implemented and debugged WECC generic renewable dynamic models in C++ for the ORNL RE-INTEGRATE EMT solver, including converter (REGC_A), electrical control (REEC_A) and plant control (REPC_A, REPC_B) models.
    • Modeled the induction generator and Type 1 to Type 4 wind turbine models (WT1T, WT12A1, WTARA1), along with GAST and WSIEG1 governors and the REXSYS exciter.
  • 2025.05 - Present
Graduate Research Assistant, Multi-Frequency Dynamic Phasor Simulation
    Florida International University
    • Developed a Python MNA simulator with EMT and multi-frequency dynamic phasor (DP) solvers for transient studies of large power systems.
    • Validated multi-frequency DP simulation against EMT on the IEEE 39-bus system, with larger time steps and shorter run times.
  • 2024.11 - 2025.04
